Joe Cocker is one of the most recognizable voices in Rock. The rough, raspy tone makes you feel like he’s on his last leg and giving you all he’s got. And what he’s got is great.
Whenever I hear Feelin’ Alright, written by Dave Mason, I just start movin’. The song is a rock-n-soul invitation to start nodding your head, snap your fingers and sing along.
Besides Joe, many artists have since covered this song including Traffic, Three Dog Night and the Jackson 5 and put their own stamp on it. A big fan of the Jacksons and Michael, I really enjoyed the dance version of the song.
Ironically, the title of the song in the chorus is followed by “Not feelin’ too good myself”. I wish I could work out all my problems to such a great groove
